Malawi coach names 6 PSL players in squad

Malawi national team coach Meke Mwase has named 32 players for the national team camp that is going to start next week.

Malawi is set to take on Zimbabwe and Zambia in two international friendlies as they prepare to resume their African Cup of Nations qualification campaign next month.

The ‘Flames’ will be looking to bounce back after a defeat against Uganda on match day two of the AFCON qualifiers, although they had won their opening group game against South Sudan.

The match against Zimbabwe will be played on the 11th of October 2020, at Kamuzu Stadium. The encounter will come after the hosts had played Zambia in their other friendly in Lusaka on the 7th of October.

Headlining the selection is Orlando Pirates striker and 2019/20 Premier Soccer League joint top scorer, Gabadinho Mhango. Also, part of the team is Baroka playmaker Gerald Phiri.
