“I’m busy working on a manual. I don’t want to say, it is a book. It will help in the development on how to train a South African player relevant to how we are.”
These are the words of TS Galaxy FC head coach, Dan Malesela, who is highly regarded for eye-catching and attacking football, his weapon of choice.
The Galaxy mentor is of the opinion that entertainment is the name of the game when his team play matches. After all, Malesela became the first coach to lead a GladAfrica Championship to Nedbank Cup success when he shocked Kaizer Chiefs in the 2019 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Affectionately known as ‘Dance’ in the football fraternity, Malesela is one of the best football brains in South Africa with the masses captivated by his exciting and good brand of football, which has made him a darling to football lovers in the country.
“I’m trying to create a culture here to say this is how we are, and this is how you train a South African player. I’m trying to see if I can finish the manual,” added Malesela, who is planning on writing a coaching manual.
A firm believer in local talent, the tactician added, “It is not an easy thing to do because you really have to think and be very smart in everything that you do. Some of the pages have been done.
“As soon as I have time, I don’t know when. I doubt I have now, but we will release the manual at the right time,” concluded the former Chippa United coach.
‘The Rockets’ are set for their DStv Premiership debut under the guidance of Malesela as the club secured Highlands Park’s top-flight status ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
