Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela couldn’t hide his displeasure after his side missed an opportunity to move out of the basement of the DStv Premiership.
Gallants were held to a 0-0 draw by Maritzburg at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Bahlabane Ba Ntwa were awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute, but Thabo Mnyamane was denied by Maritzburg’s German goalkeeper Marcel Engelhardt from the spot-kick.
“Very disappointed I must say, very disappointed,” he said after the match.
“It’s unbelievable, the performance was way below par. The thinking today was just off, the urgency is not there. I don’t know, but we will get to the bottom of this so that on understands what was happening.
“No instruction was taken today and it doesn’t work well for us. It doesn’t really reflect well for us. We played far stronger team than this and we performed far better than what we did today you know, so we will see. Some people need to sit and maybe they will learn,” he said.
“Then we missed a penalty, then we missed a free header, then we missed a cross I mean how many misses must we have so that we can win? It’s not fair on us you know, it’s not fair on the club. Players must learn to take responsibility.”
Marumo are away to DRC giants TP Mazembe in the CAF confederations Cup on Saturday, 28 November.
