Mozambican international and former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Luís Miquissone has promised to do his utmost best when the Mambas take on Rwanda and Cape Verde in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.
The Mambas will play Rwanda on the 24th of March before facing Cape Verde on the 30th in the fifth and the sixth round respectively of Group F.
Miquissone is one of the sparkling stars available to Luís Gonçalves, and he is aware that the attention will be on him as he is producing eye-catching performances for Tanzanian giants Simba.
However, he says he is prepared to live up to the expectations of Mozambican football lovers.
“I am already used to having this kind of pressure, I am prepared to live up to what people expect from me, I will work to be able to show that I am in a good phase and give my best on the field,” said Miquissone.
Miquissone arrived on Friday and was immediately integrated into the working group. “We are prepared, we have been training very well, we are focused on the game we are going to play in Rwanda, we hope to do our best to be able to qualify for Afcon,” he said.
“We are all at a good level, I arrived on Friday and I was able to train with my colleagues, they show to be in a good level in physical terms, I am also fine, I have played regularly and now we just have to unite what we have in common to make a good game.”
