Mamelodi Sundowns injured midfielder Oupa Manyisa has started light training and he is expected to be back in full force by the end of March.
The former Orlando Pirates player got injured during the friendly Shell Ultra Cup against Kaizer Chiefs on 12th October 2019 at the FNB Stadium and he had to undergo surgery on his Achilles tendon.
Team doctor Dr Carl Kgabo Tabane confirmed to FARPost that the former Bafana Bafana midfielder has returned to training.
“As I’m speaking to you Oupa joined the team in training today for a full warm up. Yes he is well on track and by end of March he will be fully fully fit to play again. He has done very well. We had a similar injury with Villa (Sibusiso Vilakazi) before and the methods we used are the same. We knew it will take from 4 to 5 months for him to fully heal,” Dr Tabane said.
Dr Tabane added that the recently injured Thapelo Morena will also be out between 5 to 6 months as well.
