Manzini Wanderers players go on a strike

Eswatini club Manzini Wanderers have been dealt a huge blow as players have put down their tools due to outstanding salaries.

SwaziObsever is reporting that the players have vowed not to attend training until they are paid their outstanding monies.

“The team has not been training for the past days though on Friday morning only a few turned out. They’ve made it clear that they want their money. So, it’s a serious situation the team is going through,” a source told the publication.

The clubs Public Relations Officer, Mlungisi Ndzinisa said the current situation had been caused by personal issues currently faced by their unnamed managing director when reached for comment.

“It’s true that the players weren’t paid last month. The problem is that our managing director is in Europe on medical grounds. He would be back soon and attend to the problem,” he said.

“At the moment, the management committee has been running the team from their own pockets. Our hands are always open to all the supporters who would like to assist,” added Ndzinisa.
