FARPost has been informed by sources at Chippa United that coach Norman Mapeza has indeed resigned.

Mapeza and management have for hours not being reachable.

“They really tried to convince him to stay, but there are contractual issues that have affected the relationship,” our source revealed.

The Zimbabwe-born mentor arrived at the Port Elizabeth-based club early in October last year and Chippa boss, Siviwe Mpengesi, later revealed that Mapeza had a R20-million buyout clause.

Mapeza leaves Chippa at a time when they are 11th on the Absa Premiership standings.

Mbuyiselo Sambu takes over on an interim basis.
