The Business manager of Norman Mapeza has shed some light on why his client had to quit as head coach of Absa Premiership outfit Chippa United.
On Monday the highly rated Zimbabwean coach resigned from the ‘Chilli Boys’, with rumours circulating that he was forced out of the club by player power and interference from management.
But Gibson Mahachi who represents Mapeza told FARPost that his client enjoyed a great working relationship with Chippa owner Siviwe Mpengesi.
“He played his part and he felt the team needed a new face and a new voice. There is no grain of truth in all that, “said Mahachi.
Mahachi also dismissed reports linking Mapeza with AmaZulu FC. “No mate that’s pure speculation, nothing official at all.” he said, “No talks and no one has approached us. Mapeza is taking a break, resting.”
Asked if there was any chance of Mapeza returning to work in Mzansi again in future, the agent simply replied, “Football will take you anywhere so who knows.”
