Maphangule confirms Marumo departure

FARPost can confirm that midfielder Meshack Maphangule has officially left the 2021 Nedbank Cup champions, Marumo Gallants.

This comes after the two parties failed to reach an agreement for a new deal.

Maphangule joins the likes of Mogakolodi Ngele, Thabo Rakhale, Diamond Thopola, Tokelo Rantie and Alfred Ndengane who have all left for greener pastures.

“Yes, I am no longer part of the club. But I am grateful to the management for the opportunity, my former teammates as well for working well with them in the past season,” Maphangule told FARPost.

“The time I spent there was good for me and it’s something that I appreciate a lot. In terms of my next move, there is no club that I can confirm that I am joining at the moment. I am free and training alone at the moment,” he said.

This publication has it in good authority that the 29-year-old is on the verge of a return to Chippa United where he played during the 2019/20 season. But the player declined to comment on the reported move.
