Maritzburg United chairman Farouk Kadodia has announced Global humanitarian body Gift of the Givers as their partner.
The KwaZulu Natal club has been struggling with sponsors, which has in the past forced them to sell some of their best players.
Kadodia told the media at the unveiling that their partnership will enable the club to print the branding of the foundation on their jersey.
“The club will be available to work with Gift of the Givers Foundation on their projects, as they have headquarters in the capital city of KwaZulu Natal,” he said.
“Football is the game of the people in South Africa and gives hope to people. This is something the Gift of Givers is synonymous for giving: hope and so we are extremely proud to be associated with them,” Kadodia said.
Gift of the Givers founder Dr Imtiaz Sooliman was also in attendance and assured the club of their unwavering support on and off the field.
“We are excited to partner with the Team of Choice in the City of Choice and we are saying to you, we’ll always be available when you need us.
“It didn’t take us long to agree on this partnership because of the way they approached us, it’s not us about publicity but humanitarian work,” Sooliman.
