With Ghana’s number 1 Richard Ofori on the verge of joining Orlando Pirates, FARPost sources have confirmed that Reyaad Pieterse has been earmarked to replace him at Maritzburg United.
Ofori is expected to undergo a medical at the Buccaneers this weekend.
Pieterse, meanwhile, is expected to travel down to Pietermaritzburg to seal the deal.
The move could be a relief for Pieterse who played just one match for the Brazilians in the 2019/20 season. He joined Sundowns in 2018 and rarely played.
But the 28-year-old may have a chance to resurrect his career in KwaZulu Natal.
Meanwhile, Pieterse’s Downs teammate Jose Ali Meza is also joining Maritzburg and our sources say the deal, believed to be three years, will be announced on Monday.
The other player joining the club is Sibusiso Hlubi who was at Polokwane City, but has parted ways with Rise and Shine.
Maritzburg also recently signed a new deal with midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase, who put pen to paper on a two-year deal.
