Maritzburg ‘’prepared’’ for Wits

Siyanda Xulu says Maritzburg United are well prepared for Bidvest Wits as the 2 sides will lock horns on Wednesday evening at Bidvest Stadium in an Absa Premiership clash.

“They (Wits) are a big side you know, their approach is to win trophies every season, so it is going to be a massive game for us as Maritzburg United,” said Xulu.

“But then again, we know really well that we prepared ourselves…it will be a difficult game playing away, “added the ‘Team of Choice’ centre-back.

Maritzburg have managed to acquire just 11 points from a possible 30 away from home this season and have only won once in their last 5 games. However, Wits midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange is wary of a Maritzburg side that is ‘’tough to play against’’.

“It won’t be an easy game, Maritzburg is a very tough team to play against and they are doing well this season.

“Our confidence is always high, and we are playing at home, so it is very important for us to do well,” said Nange.

A win for Maritzburg will take them to 30 points and remain in 6th position on the log standings while Wits head into the game in 5th place with 4 games in hand as a result of competing in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The ‘Clever Boys’ will be 3 points behind top of the table Kaizer Chiefs if they win all their 4 games in hand.

Kickoff at 19:30
