Maritzburg triumph in KZN derby

Maritzburg United came back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win in the Absa Premiership against Golden Arrows at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Friday night. 

Danny Venter opened the scoring for Abafana Bes’thende early in the first half.

Maritzburg levelled matters through Daylon Claasen before they grabed a late winning goal in stoppage time when Nkosinathi Sibisi scored an own goal from Thabiso Kutumela’s through pass. 

The victory took the Team of Choice to the 5th spot on the league standings, while Arrows are down to 8th spot.
