FARPost.co.za can confirm that a deal is imminent between AmaZulu and Tsepo Masilela.
Usuthu coach Jozef Vukusic has recommended that the club sign the former Bafana Bafana left back.
“It’s now between the club and the player to negotiate and reach an agreement,” a source close to the deal told us on Thursday night.
Vukusic, we are told, is desperate to get the deal done on time to have Masilela available for Sunday’s clash against Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“There is also a boy from their development, who has also been promoted to help solve their problems at left back,” added the source.
AmaZulu have been looking at Masilela, because their regular left back Sibusiso Mabiliso look set to be out for months with a foot injury.
The KwaZulu Natal outfit also let Marc van Heerden leave to join Stellenbosch, leaving them thin on the left side of their defence.
Masilela’s experience could be vital, but there would obviously be question marks over his fitness since his last match was for his former team Kaizer Chiefs on April 24, 2018, against Golden Arrows.
Efforts to get comment from the club and the player proved futile at this stage.
