Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has played down talks that the all-important Absa Premiership clash against rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday will be the title decider.
Sundowns closed the gap at the top of the log to just three points against rivals Chiefs, following a hard fought 1-0 win against Golden Arrows on Monday night.
A win against Amakhosi on Thursday could see the Brazilians equal on 53 points, presenting a grand finale for the 2020/21 Absa Premiership season.
Chiefs will host Sundowns at Orlando Stadium on Thursday at 18:00.
“I don’t think Thursday is a title decider” Mosimane told the media on Monday.
“The way I know these things, the way I have been with these things, sometimes the title might be at the last match hey. I always say to you guys sometimes you don’t value a point neh.
“We might even maybe not win against Chiefs. Of course we want to win to make everything correct but mathematically the league is not won on Thursday, no. How many more points do you have? You know.” He said.
“So we deserve a chance, we deserve a break… this thing still has a heartbeat, you have to buckle up and we are all feeling the pressure, we are all feeling the stress.
“As I said… long way. The fat lady hasn’t sung, we are still going,” concluded Mosimane.
