‘Matsatsantsa’ take their pre-season to Polokwane

SuperSport United will spend a couple of weeks in Polokwane, Limpopo for their pre-season camp ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Preparations are underway for the new season set to start on October 17 with the MTN8 quarterfinals. The opening DStv Premiership matches will commence on October 24.

The Tshwane based outfit gave the players a few days off after the completion of the 2019/20 season on September 5 in the Bio Bubble in Gauteng.

Kaitano Tembo’s charges travelled to Limpopo on Wednesday and conducted a training session upon arrival.

The 2019/20 MTN8 champions will focus on the new season’s training programme and will also play a few practice matches with the local sides in Limpopo.

Unlike the other domestic cup competitions, the MTN8 quarterfinal fixtures are not determined via a draw, but by the final league placing of the teams involved.

As a result, ‘Matsatsantsa’ will start their MTN8 title defence against the team that finished fourth on the league table, which is Bidvest Wits, now known as Tshakuma Tsha Mandivhandzila (TTM) as the club owners purchased the PSL status of Wits.

SuperSport will be based at Ranch Resort hotel, 30 kilometres outside of the capital City of Polokwane.
