Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies defender Bambanani Mbane says retaining and repeating the unbeaten streak to win the League is her priority ahead of the new season.
The 2021 Safa National Women’s League (SNWL) campaign was supposed to start on the 3rd of April but due to unforseen circumstances it was postponed to commence on the 24th of April.
Sundowns will face the newly promoted Limpopo-based outfit Ma-Indies in their opening game of the season.
The Banyana Banyana international was among six new additions introduced by the club earlier last month.
She is described as one of the versatile footballers who is no stranger to the biggest stages of women’s football.
The 31-year-old will forever be mentioned in the history books of Dinamo Minsk where she won the Belarusian Women’s Championship and the 2020 Belarusian Cup Game.
“My main focus is to win the Caf Women’s Champions League with the Team. It’s every player’s aspiration to write their own story in the history books of the game,” said Mbane.
“I will forever be grateful for the female predecessors in the game. I want to be part of the change they wanted to see.
“I believe in myself, my Coach and mostly my teammates. The rest lies in a matter of time for our fans to witness the marvellous game we can’t wait to display.”
