Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe may miss some important matches in the coming weeks following an ankle injury in the French Cup final on Friday.
PSG won 1-0 against St Ettiene courtesy of Neymar’s goal, but the victory was marred by St Etienne captain Loic Perrin’s horror tackle on Mbappe in the 26th minute, which left the latter in tears.
The Ligue 1 champions face Lyon in the League Cup final on July 31 and have a Champions League quarter-final against Atalanta coming up on August 12. These are matches that Mbappe is likely to miss.
He was pictured limping through the stadium on crutches during the second half, leaving his participation in PSG’s hectic upcoming schedule in doubt.
Mbappe later joined his teammates on crutches following their French Cup final triumph.
PSG would have been counting on the 21-year-old to play a key role as they seek to complete a quadruple of titles following their Ligue 1 and French Cup triumphs.
