Gauteng ABC Motsepe League outfit Remember Elite Sports Academy (RESA) were graced with the presence of former Bafana Bafana captain, Aaron ‘Mbazo’ Mokoena.
Mokoena visited the Vereeniging-based club to give the entire team an inspirational talk ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
‘The Axe’, as he is also popularly known within football cycles, because of his tough tackling skills, played for clubs such as Jomo Cosmos, Ajax Amsterdam, Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers, Bidvest Wits just to mention a few.
The Boipatong-born retired footballer amassed 107 caps for Bafana Bafana and scored one goal since debuting back in 1999.
RESA is also known as Vaal Professionals FC, however, they are currently depicted as RESA on the ABC Motsepe League charts while waiting for a name change.
The side was not lucky enough last season as they missed out on the South African football third-tier National Playoffs qualification to Leruma United after a 4-2 defeat on penalties.
RESA have now turned their focus to the upcoming new season and have high ambitions to get the team promoted to the GladAfrica Championship and then the Premier Soccer League.
The club will be hoping that the wisdom shared by the former Cape Town City assistant coach with the team will be a stepping stone to the right direction as they are an ambitious team.
