At the beginning of the current season, GladAfrica Championship side Mbombela United was up for sale but no one came through and the owner and chairman Oupa Matsebula continued running it.
With about 10 games to go before the end of the season, the club is lying second from bottom of log and in danger of relegation.
Now the Mpumalanga based side is once again up for sale according to Matsebula who told FARPost that he has sacrificed a lot for the team, but he is getting nothing back from it.
“I like football. I have even been involved with the youth at lower levels of the game. But there are a lot of problems. Too many unwarranted stuff and its costing us money, “said Matsebula.
“Now I just want to sell the team. I can even give it away for free as long as the person or people who will take it will take good care of the team and if they feel like they are tired of running it after some time I can then get it back. But for now, I need to take a break away from football and concentrate on other businesses that we have.
“We take money from those businesses to run the team. Imagine using over R400 000 every month and nothing is happening? Where do you get that money? From other businesses which we run. So, for now whether the team survives relegation or not I am just selling it,” Matsebula concluded.
