Mamelodi Sundowns beat Kaizer Chiefs 4-3 at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve on Sunday to reclaim their position at the top of the Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) log standings with 50 points after 21 matches.
While Bidvest Wits are in second place with 49 points after their 2-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at the same venue.
Orlando Pirates make up the top 3 with 45 points as they hammered SuperSport United 3-0. Pirates have now gone 6 games without a defeat.
Golden Arrows dropped points as they were held to a 1-1 by Stellenbosch at the Super Ray Xulu Stadium while AmaZulu made light work of Cape Town City with a convincing 3-0 win at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Black Leopards who are bottom of the log with 7-points went down 2-0 to Highlands Park at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday. Leopards now have gone 21 games in the MDC without winning a game.
Polokwane City and Chippa United drew 1-1 while Maritzburg United lost 2-0 against Baroka at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
With 9 games remaining in the MDC, second-placed Wits are a point behind log leaders Sundowns, while Pirates in 3rd place are not far behind as they are 5 points behind. Chiefs are just outside the top 8 in 9th position while SuperSport, Baroka, Highlands Park, Cape Town City, and AmaZulu remain in the top 8.
The MDC Festival at the Giant Stadium saw 11 146 fans come out to support their teams.
The MDC is set to continue 1 February 2020.
