Deolin Mekoa’s agent Glyn Binkin says the reason his client joined a second-tier side was because he wanted to get some game time.
The former Bafana Bafana international joined GladAfrica Championship outfit Ajax Cape Town from Maritzburg United for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
The Urban Warriors have an option to buy the player outright.
According to Binkin, the 26-year-old Mekoa’s contract with the Team of Choice will also expire at the end of June this year, same time with loan deal.
“Ja he’s going to Ajax,” Binkin told FARPost.
“I think he just needs to get some game time, at Ajax there’s plenty of opportunities, they are top of the log, he can help them, and they can help him as well. They (Ajax) spoke to Maritzburg.
“Yes (his contract with Maritzburg ends in June), we’ll look at it in June. He’s focused on Ajax now. He needs some game time we’ll look at it in June, we’ll have to see at the end of the season (if he goes back to Maritzburg),” concluded Binkin.
