Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp hailed the character shown by his team following their dramatic 1-0  victory at the death against Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Amakhosi left it very late with Lebogang Manyama volleying home a late winner in stoppage time to move Chiefs one step closer to the Absa Premiership title and the German mentor believes his side is finally showing the characteristics of being champions.
“If am not mistaken one or two years ago the team won the championship had twelve times 1-0 (victories), this is something everybody is in specific, special competitive mood, that is what you have to know  standing there with a number of points where we are sitting at the moment there is always something special,” he said.
Lebogang Manyama scored the all-important goal.
The crucial win against Abafana Bes’thende took The Glamour Boys to 45 points after 19 matches played and most importantly 10 points clear ahead of Pitso Mosimane’s Mamelodi Sundowns who now have a game in hand after they flew out of the county to fulfill their CAF Champions League commitment duties.
