Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has played down the pressure of being on top of the Absa Premiership log midway through the season.
Amakhosi suffered their 2nd defeat of the season after a 2-1 loss to SuperSport United at Mbombela stadium on Saturday night.
Their lead at the top of the log has now been reduced to 4 points after second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns won 3-0 against AmaZulu on Saturday.
“No (there is no pressure). Arg you know there is a lot of discussion since the beginning. I am too long into this business to not know that you (lose) some games,” Middendorp told the media after the match.
“Each and every game a team will win matches and you will win games and it will be something that you won’t be okay with the performance and sometimes the result is not good and today the performance in the 90 minutes was absolutely okay the result was not okay,” he said.
Chiefs will face Highlands Park in their next League match on Wednesday night.
The match will also serve as a celebratory for the Soweto giants, who are turning 50 on January 7
