Mighty re-elected unopposed to lead Limpopo ABC Motsepe


Mighty Tjale has been re-elected as Chairperson of the Board of Governors unopposed.

Mr Tjale, who is also the owner of Mighty FC has been the Chairperson of the organisation since its inception back in 2010. He will lead the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League for the next 5 years.

Safa Limpopo ABC Motsepe Board of Governors held their second-ever elections on Friday, 13 August 2021, in Seshego.

Meanwhile, Mpheni Home Defenders chairman, Seddy Phuravhathu has been elected to be the Deputy Chairperson, whilst Happy Nkanyane of Giyani Happy Boys and Makgaba Letsoalo of Phinnet City were voted to be Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

It was also agreed in the meeting that the referee’s fee paid by each team per game will increase from R350 to R500. The motive to raise the referee’s fee to R500 per team in every game was described as experimental for now, with the aim being to take the fee to R1 500 per game for each team in the near future.

The league will continue using the two streams format with nine teams from each stream.

On the other hand, it was advised that protests and complaints lodged by teams should be dealt with within 7 days of being filed.

Last but not least, registration of players is set to open on the first of September with the new season expected to commence on the first week of October and end by 21 May 2022.
