TP Mazembe have announced the return of Pamphile Mihayo Kazembe as the club’s head coach.
Mihayo was ousted in March 2020, having failed to get the job done in the Caf Champions League.
The Congolese mentor was then replaced by the Serbian coach Dragan Cvetcovic, before going to training in Belgium.
However, the 44-year-old has returned to his old position and he therefore replaces the Serbian mentor who had replaced him.
Cvetcovic’s contract expires on December 31 and the club has decided not to renew the contract.
In a statement released by TP Mazembe confirms this turnaround.
“In accordance with the club’s decision-making process, the meeting sports committee decided on the appointment of Pamphile Mihayo Kazembe – back from a training course in Liège – as head coach. He will be assisted by Isaac Kasongo as assistant coach. For the first time in the history of the end of the collaboration, a dinner with all the players will be organized in honor of the coach Dragan who is leaving Lubumbashi this Thursday, December 31 for France.”
