Minister of Sports sends message to Chiefs

Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa has sent a message of encouragement to Kaizer Chiefs as they will be participating in the Caf Champions League final against the Egyptian side, Al Ahly.

Amakhosi will take on the ‘Red Devils’ on Saturday, 17 July at Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

Mthethwa reckons that success for the Glamour Boys in this prestigious competition will bring back home more than just a trophy, but it will offer the love and peace as the club’s slogan during these trying times in our beloved country.

He equally urged the nation to demonstrate a united front and rally behind the Soweto giants at the heart of their comfort homes.

“I so wish Kaizer Chiefs can emulate the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns who once managed to win the cup,” said Mthethwa in a short video via Chiefs’ social media platforms.

“Once more, make us proud and bring back the trophy,” he added in his message of support.
