Mkhize challenges Sasol KZN League teams

Westville United Ladies who have wrecked havoc in their stream thus far, beating every team they have faced will be tested on Sunday, when they face Lindelani Ladies FC at Princess Magogo Stadium.

One of their best players, Ncamisile Mkhize has encouraged other teams to hold their own against the two most feared teams in the league (Westville United Ladies and Lindelani Ladies).

The two sides have won all their matches and their match on Sunday promises to be a thriller.

Mkhize told FARPost that some teams give up even before kicking the ball because of the stature of her team.

“It seems like others don’t know what is required from them to be in this league, others are just playing for fun,” she said.

“Others you can see that they are not supposed to be playing at this level of Sasol League. Maybe they need to learn while still playing in the Absa League.

“Teams must pull up their socks when they play here, they must show commitment when they play against us. They need to tell themselves that they deserve to play in the league and fight for their teams,” said Mkhize.

The 30-year-old player believes there is a lot of talent in the league, players who can make it in the national team, Banyana Banyana.

“There is a lot of talent, we are competing with some great players, they just need to up their game. Our football needs sponsors and people who love the game to support it with resources so that it can grow.”

“It seems like women’s football is not given much attention and I don’t know what is the reason for that. Here in KZN we are really serious about football, we don’t look at the size of the player, we just play football.

“Our coaches are doing their best in terms of supporting the team, they even spend from their own pockets. So that’s encouraging to us as players, we want to repay their faith, for investing in us,” continued Mkhize.

With the top of the table clash looming, the wing back revealed to this publication that she is ready for the match and she wants her team to collect maximum points.

“You see that one, it’s gonna be a tough game surely a lot of people will be watching that match. We are bringing our game plan and they have theirs, we’ll see and I want three points for my team.

“We want to make sure that we win as Westville United Ladies, I’m not even scared I feel ready, even if we were playing tomorrow I’ll give my all for the team and for the love of the game,” concluded Mkhize.
