SuperSport United have announced the signing of defender Buhle Mkhwanazi on a one-year deal with an option to renew.
Mkhwanazi spent a lengthy time on the side-lines following the sale of Bidvest Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila last season.
The 31-year-old will hoping to add value to Matsatsantsa ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The club CEO Stanley Matthews is delighted about the acquisition of Mkhwanazi citing that his experience will bear fruitful results and help the side flourish in the process.
“Buhle brings us maturity, character and leadership at the back where the void of Clayton Daniels, Bongani Khumalo and Grant Kekana has left us thin in terms of experience. Buhle knows what is required to win trophies at an ambitious club like ours with his success at Wits and we think he will add value to the team and positively impact our younger players in the squad,” said Matthews.
SuperSport will play their first league game against Cape Town City on Saturday, 21 August at Athlone Stadium with the kick-off set for 17:00 in the evening.
