Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi says that he expects a tricky return leg in the Caf Champions League against Jwaneng Galaxy.
Bafana Ba Style began their Caf Champions League campaign with a good start as they defeated Losikalame Keatlholetswe’s side 2-0.
The win gives Masandawana an advantage going into the second leg with two away goals.
Mngqithi admitted that the game was a tough one and they knew it would not be easy, having played against the Jwaneng-based side on four occasions.
“They are a hard-running team and very strong on set-pieces. They have quality players like Ditshele who is very much involved from the start, the Ivorian striker works very hard and everywhere on the pitch. It was a good game even though the pitch conditions were not good, this team can play and I am sure if the pitch was ok it would have been better,” he adds.
“The return leg will be a tricky one, we will not be with the players as we have given them a Christmas break. We will give them a few days off, then we play Orlando Pirates on the 2nd of January and after that, we play Galaxy.”
The Brazilians will face Jwaneng Galaxy in the second leg of the Champions League preliminary rounds on Wednesday, 6 January 2021.
“We know it’s not going to be easy and I am optimistic that we will come out on top. The boys understand the value of getting into the group stages and that is what we always play for,” says the 49-year-old mentor in conclusion.
