The family of the late Golden Arrows defender Nkanyiso ‘Sgora’ Mngwengwe say the death of their son came as a shock but they have accepted it.
Mngwengwe died in the early hours of Monday morning en route to hospital.
Family spokesperson and Nkanyiso’s brother Mphathi Mngwengwe has told FARPost the 30-year-old was a responsible and respectful person.
“We have accepted (Nkanyiso’s death) because there is nothing we can do, it is nature. We have to accept so we can bury him peacefully,” said Mphathi.
“He was a good boy, full of respect and was very responsible. May his soul rest in peace we will remember him as family because we loved him. He made this family proud,” he said.
“We will wait for the post-mortem from the doctors to find out what is the cause of his death so maybe later this afternoon or tomorrow we will have full details of his funeral arrangements,” said Mngwengwe senior.
Mngwengwe made 140 appearances at Abafana Bes’thende since making his debut in 2013.
