SA international Kamohelo Mokotjo came on as a second-half substitute for Brentford as they defeated leaders West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at Griffin Park on Friday evening to close in on an automatic promotion spot in the Sky Bet Championship.
Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the match as Brentford climbed into the top three in Championship, five points behind the two automatic promotion places [to the Premier League] occupied by West Brom and Leeds United.
However, Leeds have a game in hand and can remain top spot on Saturday as they play against fourth-placed Fulham at Elland Road.
‘The Bees’ head coach Thomas Frank said: “Now we’d like to see Fulham win at Leeds on Saturday and create a truly competitive last seven games of the season.
“But, for us, the most important is now at Reading on Tuesday. Winning these two games will mean nothing if we don’t follow it up… we don’t perform against Reading on Tuesday night it won’t feel as good.
“Our performance team and the medical staff have done a great job in keeping the players fit,” added Frank.
