Molekwane falls victim to scammers

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City defender Tlou Molekwane is the latest victim of scammers who used his name to solicit money from innocent people.

Molekwane is the founder of the Tlou Molekwane Football Academy that caters for kids from the age of 6 until 15 and based in Polokwane.

The 31-year-old says he received numerous calls from parents informing him that there are third parties attempting to fraudulently obtain money on his behalf.

“I received calls from parents telling me that there is a guy who is sending messages saying if they want to join my academy they must pay R3 500 per kid,” he tells FARPost

“I thought this person was doing it to only one parent but the next thing I received calls from other parents as well telling me about this issue and the thing is those parents do not have kids at our academy currently.

“It’s a problem for me because this person wants to ruin my academy’s reputation whereas there is no such. At my academy parents only pay R100 as a registration but someone wants R 3 500 just imagine. So my advice to parents is that they must never pay any money to anyone” he said.

Molokwane formed the academy three months ago after announcing his retirement from football due to injuries.
