With the DStv Premiership having four KwaZulu Natal clubs, it does not get any better in terms of excitement and rivalry from the clubs.
Maritzburg United assistant coach Maahier Davids is adamant the more the teams from the province that are participating in the South African Premier division, the better for everyone in KZN.
The Team of Choice will face on-form Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday, 3 October and Davids is aware of the expectations that come with more derbies in the province.
“I think it’s giving us extra motivation, extra energy going into the game, we know it’s going to be tough so we have to prepare ourselves psychologically for this type of game,” he said.
“It’s exciting for the crowd and it’s exciting for us to be involved in, so we are looking forward to the game, so we should look forward to winning the match,” said Davids.
