Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has shared some good news regarding his health.
The two-time Caf Champions League winner with Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly has recovered from COVID-19 and is set to return to the bench.
The Red Devils had released a statement 10 days ago announcing that Mosimane tested positive for COVID-19.
“Finally ,the virus is out my system. Thanks to everybody for the love and support during the past difficult two weeks. God Bless, Shukran. Al Hamdoulilla. Can’t wait to reunite with the Mosimane and Al Ahly Family,” Mosimane tweeted.
He missed Al Ahly’s 3-0 win over newly-promoted Ghazl El-Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League as well as their CAF Champions League opener against Niger’s AS SONIDEP.
Mosimane’s assistant Cavin Johnson was in charge of both games, but now the Reds will see their manager returning back after recovering from COVID-19.
Four days ago his PCR test showed a positive result as he was placed in quarantine in a private hospital, however, his recent test on Saturday returned negative.
He will now take charge of Al Ahly’s upcoming league game against Ittihad of Alexandria on Monday, December 28.
Overall, Pitso has led Al Ahly in 12 games, winning 11, while drawing the other one, guiding the club to the Champions League and Egypt Cup titles.
