Mosimane names Al Ahly squad for Chiefs’ CAFCL final

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has announced his 28-man squad to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Caf Champions League final.

The decider will take place at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco on Saturday, 17 July – with Chiefs competing in their first-ever Champions League final, while Al Ahly head into the encounter as defending champions.

Al Ahly and Chiefs have only met on one occasion in Caf competitions back in 2001 when the Cairo giants hammered Amakhosi 4-1 in the Caf Super Cup.

The Cairo-based outfit also confirmed that all the players tested negative for Covid-19 and will go into a bio bubble upon their arrival in Casablanca, Morocco.

Mosimane’s men are unbeaten in 11 matches and the former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns mentor will be looking to win his second successive Champions League title.
