Mamelodi Sundowns President Dr Patrice Motsepe and his wife Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, visited the family of late defender Motjeka Madisha at Ga-Madisha-Leolo, Zebediala on Monday to pay their last respects.
Madisha died when his car crashed into a steel pole and burst into flames on the Zuurfontein Road near Chloorkop in December 2020.
After almost two months of waiting, his family confirmed on Saturday that they have received positive DNA tests from the pathologists.
Motsepe and his wife were accompanied by senior club officials Trott Moloto, Daniel Mudau and Alex Shakoane.
Meanwhile, the Limpopo department of Sport, Arts and Culture led by MEC Thandi Moraka have applied for a special provincial official funeral for the late Bafana Bafana defender, FARPost has learnt.
The application made through the Premier’s office was submitted to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s office for consideration.
Madisha’s memorial service will take place on Thursday.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 6 February at Ga-Madisha-Leolo Village, 76km outside of Polokwane.
