Mamelodi Sundowns striker Gift Motupa, through his foundation, has embarked on an initiative to donate School shoes at his home village and the surrounding areas.
The Gift Motupa foundation was at the Thogoa Secondary at Ga-Chuene in Limpopo, where Motupa attended high school to kick-start their programme where they will also be visiting various schools within the Mogodumo Circuit in the Capricorn District.
The 26-year-old who won his first Premiership title with Mamelodi Sundowns says it pleases him when people’s lives are changed with his little contribution.
“It is my former school, I studied here so I felt that it is important that I give back to the needy here in my school,” Motupa told FARPost.
“We have a big plan (on giving back), we are still working on it but we are happy that we have started now and we are looking forward to improving and cover the whole circuit but it’s a work in progress and we are patient with the process.
“We are very happy with what we have done over the past three years as a foundation and we are looking forward to getting better and better as time goes on. But so far we are very happy that we have changed so many people’s lives in our community,” he said.
The Gift Motupa foundation was launched three years ago and are known mostly for hosting local football tournaments and donating food parcels to the needy.
