Mamelodi Sundowns newly signed striker Gift Motupa says he is aware of the competition at the star studded club but he is ready for the challenge.
Motupa was unveiled by the Brazilians on Saturday together with his former Bidvest Wits teammates Haashim Domingo and Ricardo Goss on five-year deals each.
With Sundowns boosting quality up front with players such as Sibusiso Vilakazi, Peter Shalulile, Ali Meza and Mauricio Affonso, the 26-year-old says he is looking forward to the challenge.
“Mamelodi Sundowns is a big club, when you go there you know there is quality,” said Motupa.
“Everyone that is playing for Mamelodi Sundowns is good, so you must just be ready for the challenge that is coming ahead and I think I am ready for the challenge and to work hard to make sure that I make it to the starting 11.
“What I can promise is that I am there to bang goals, that’s why they signed me, to help the team achieve more things that they have already achieved. To be part of Sundowns is a great feeling,” he said.
The former Baroka and Orlando Pirates player says he looks forward to taking part in the CAF Champions League with the club.
“That’s what encouraged me more the most at the club because every year they play in the Champions League and it’s a great experience that every player would want,” added Motupa.
