Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has criticised the timing of Inter Milan’s bid for midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Inter have been linked with Eriksen throughout January and the Danish midfielder is set to travel to Italy next week to finalise a move.
The 27-year-old was also left out of Tottenham’s squad during the 0-0 draw with Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
“Tottenham is the last one to blame for this situation, I just want to say that this situation shouldn’t happen on 25 January,” said Mourinho.
“The only thing I can say is Eriksen, since I arrive, he is behaving in a very, very professional way, with me and the team. But to be on 25 January in a situation like this is not nice”
Spurs have been keen to sell the Danish midfielder this month to prevent him leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
