Mozambique have beaten Zimbabwe 2-0 in a crucial group match of the 2020 COSAFA Under-20 at the Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The first goal of the match for the Young Mambas was scored by the livewire Simon Cipriano from the penalty spot. This was Cipriano’s second goal of the tournament after scoring in the opening match against Lesotho.

Gabriel Pinho then came off the bench to head home from a delicious corner for the Young Mambas’ second goal.

The Man of the Match was awarded to the Zimbabwean defensive midfielder Munashe Garananga for his exceptional display in midfield.

Mozambique now have 6 points and need a draw to ensure qualification into the semifinals, whilst Zimbabwe’s journey looks bleak after amassing a solitary point at this stage.
