Mozambique hopes of qualifying for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament in Cameroon disappeared into the humid night air at Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto, where Cape Verde ran out 1-0 winners in the final Group F clash on Wednesday evening.
Following this result, Cape Verde finished in second place with 19 points, before Rwanda (6 points) and Mozambique (4). Cameroon remained first with 11 points.
Faisal Abdul Bangal’s lone goal in the 58th minute was decisive for the visiting Blue Sharks to get a vital away win that ensured their ticket to Cameroon.
And It is for the sixth consecutive time the Mambas have failed to qualify for the Afcon finals.
