Mpengesi promises big incentives to players


Chippa United players have been promised big incentives by club chairman Siviwe Mpengesi, if they can guarantee their stay in the Absa Premiership and win their match against Kaizer Chiefs tonight.

The ‘Chilli Boys’ take on Amakhosi at Orlando Stadium at 18:00, in a match where they only need a point to assure their safety.

In a statement released by the club on Wednesday, recognised the team’s performance at the Bio-Bubble in which they collected five out of 12 points.

“Chippa United Chairman Mr Mpengesi, yesterday thanked the players for courageous and brave performances that the team has showed in recent matches in the Bio-Bubble,” read the statement.

“He further promised big incentives to the players. If they can manage another heroic performance this evening.

“He further emphasized that they should not worry about the pressure posed by Kaizer Chiefs or even wishing for favours from other teams.”

United are currently 12th, six points above bottom-placed Polokwane City with two matches remaining.

After the match against Chiefs, Chippa will take on Golden Arrows in their last match of the season.
