FARPost.co.za has been informed that former AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson is being considered by Cape Town City to take over as head coach.
This follows the sacking of Benni McCarthy by the Citizens last night, after a run of just 2 wins in their last 18 matches.
According to our sources, Cape Town City boss John Comitis is not wasting any time in finding McCarthy’s replacement.
Johnson, who was sacked by AmaZulu in September, may find another home with the Mother City outfit.
However, Johnson is not the only one in the running.
Muhsin Ertugral is also being linked with the job.
Meanwhile, McCarthy has expressed his disappointment at losing the job.
“I’m disappointed to end my time at the Club but I would like to nevertheless thank the Club,& particularly the players, the fans and the community of Cape Town for their support and commitment over the last two years. I’m proud of my time at the Club and wish them all the best,” McCarthy tweeted from his official account on Monday morning.
