Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona netted twice on Tuesday night as KAS Eupen went down 2-3 to Zulte Weregem in a Belgian Pro League match.
Musona struck two top drawer free-kicks in the 34th and 57th minutes, taking his tally to eight goals in 25 appearances for KAS Eupen.
The Pandas looked poised to collect maximum points after dominating for the better part of the game.
However, they crumbled after pulling out the Zimbabwe captain late in the second half. Their opponents turned the game around in the last eight minutes of the game, scoring two goals.
The result saw Eupen slip to 14th position with 20 points. They are just three points ahead of log table anchors R.Excel Mouscron.
The ‘Smiling Assassin’ has not been at his best in the Belgian pro-league since his move to RSC Andelecht in 2018.
During his stint at the Belgian giants, he played eight matches and scored one goal before he was loaned to Sporting Lokeren.
His stay at Lokeren was also cut short due to injury, limiting him to just one goal in six matches.
However, despite his dip in form, Musona remains a vital cog for Zimbabwe and is among the all time top goal scorers with 22 goals in 42 appearances.
