Mutapa warns Power supporters

Power Dynamos coach Perry Mutapa has warned that his bench will not be dictated to by fans on player selection after ‘hooligans’ injured one of his substitutes who was warming up in Saturday’s home game against KSYA.

Midfielder George Chisala sustained a cut on his thigh in the 75th minute from a bottle thrown from the stands by ‘hooligans’ who were demanding their cult hero striker Alex Ngonga play after returning from a 1-year injury layoff.

“For us, we will not be controlled, we had a plan for Ngonga that is why we had him on the bench. We are not going to be controlled by anyone because we are our own men,” said Mutapa, who has been in charge at Power following his appointment late November.

Mutapa has steered Power from the bottom 4 relegation zone into the top 7 with 6 wins, 2 draws and as many defeats.

Meanwhile, Chisala is expected to be out of action for the next ten days.
