Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Mothobi Mvala is a happy man following his official debut in Masandawana colours this past weekend against Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership.
The Brazilians played to a 1-all draw with Abafana Bes’thende at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
The 26-year-old managed to get his name on the score sheet after finding the back of the net in the first-half of the game. He was also on target in his second start in the Caf Champions League tie against Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy on Tuesday.
“I feel happy that I played my first game and I scored a goal. At training we have been practicing set pieces and seeing it go in makes me happy as it comes from training,” Mvala told the club’s office website.
The former Highlands Park man played 83 minutes and reckons that it was not an easy game as he struggled a bit.
“It was my first game, I was struggling a bit. Arrows is not an easy team as they were coming at us but we managed to stick to the game plan,” adds the Bafana Bafana international.
Mvala went on to say that collecting a point from a difficult encounter like that is better than nothing.
” We kept the shape and a point away is better than nothing,” he says in conclusion.
