Enoch Mwepu scored a brace as RB Salzburg walloped Sturm Graz 4-0 in the Austrian Cup semi-final match.
Enock Mwepu was named Man of the Match as Red Bull Salzburg advanced to the Austrian Cup final on Wednesday night.
The Zambian midfielder started and played the entire 90 minutes as the Austrian champions romped to a 4-0 victory against SK Sturm Graz in the semi-final to book a spot in the biggest domestic cup competition.
Mwepu opened the scoring after 36 minutes after a great ball from Zlatko Januzovic. Nine minutes into the second half, the 23-year-old completed his brace and doubled Salzburg’s lead.
Brenden Aaronson and Mergim Berisha scored two late goals to seal the victory for Jesse Marsch’s side as they marched on to the biggest game in the competition.
Patson Daka also started and played 77 minutes while Nigerian youngster Karim Adeyemi came on in the second half to assist the last goal of the game.
This is Mwepu’s fourth goal in just five appearances in the Cup for the dynamic midfielder. He has netted twice in 16 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga to help Salzburg sit top of the table. The giants have accumulated 43 points from 19 games .
On Sunday afternoon, they host St. Polten at the Red Bull Arena in a league encounter as they look to open the gap at the top of the standings.
Patson Daka is the current league top goal scorer having scored 17 goals in 15 games for Salzburg. He has also assisted three more goals.
Elsewhere, South African winger Gift Links played the entire 90 minutes, but could not help AGF Aarhus avoid a 1-0 loss to FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder was introduced in additional time as Glasgow Rangers defeated Livingston 1-0 in the Scottish Premiership to inch closer to lifting the title.
