Namibia captain Coleman pens deal with Sevilla

Spanish Primera Iberdrola side Sevilla Femenino have confirmed that they have completed the acquisition of  Namibia National Women’s team captain Zenatha Coleman for the upcoming 2020/21 season.

The Namibian striker joins Sevilla as a free agent after she parted ways with Valencia Féminas CF on Wednesday.

“Coleman stands out for her speed, good technique and for the ability to adapt to different positions within the attack, something that will allow Sevilla coach Cristian Toro to find different variants for greater fluidity at the top,” said Sevilla in a statement.

During her two-year stint at Valencia, the 26-year-old managed to find the back of the net 11 times in 42 appearances. Picture: Valencia.

“I am grateful to be given the opportunity and I’m here to give my best and make the best memories with his great club,” said Coleman.

Coleman arrived in Spain in the 2017/18 campaign to play for Zaragoza CFF, where she netted seven goals in 14 games before Valencia came knocking for her services.

The Namibian featured in the UEFA Women’s Champions League  (UWCL) in the 2016/2017 season with MFK Gintra, from Lithuania and also captained her country at several Cosafa Women’s Cups as well as at the 2014 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
