Namibia drawn in Group B for U20 Cosafa Cup

The Junior Warriors of Namibia have been drawn alongside defending champions Zambia in Group B for the 2020 Cosafa Men’s Under-20 Championship.

The draw was made for the zonal qualifier at Nelson Mandela Bay for the December 3-13 tournament earlier this week.

Namibia will also face Malawi and Comoros Islands in what it is likely to be a fiercely contested pool with the top two advancing to the next stage.

Zambia’s pedigree suggests that Namibia and the remaining two teams will be fighting over one spot.

Meanwhile, South Africa and Zimbabwe were drawn in Group A along with Mozambique and Lesotho.

The three-team Group C is made up of Angola, Eswatini and Botswana.

Only the top team in each pool and the best-placed runners-up advance to the semifinals, with the two teams that contest the decider to earn a place in the Caf Under-20 Cup of Nations next year.
